Vanilla Powder by Matière Première is everything I want vanilla to be and none of the things I can’t stand. This is not a cupcake or sugary dessert. This is vanilla draped in ambered warmth, soft and intimate like the scent of skin that’s been resting in sunshine and silk. It’s velvety, woody, gently musky—a golden hour blanket you wear on your body.

I usually struggle with powdery notes, but this isn’t baby-powder or makeup-bag floral. This is clean, grounded, and almost resinous. Like Le Labo’s Labdanum 18 and Heretic Parfum's Dirty Vanilla had a quiet, glowy child and she reads poetry at dusk with incense.

I’ve layered it with Heretic's Dirty Amber, TFs Oud Wood, Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin—and it never overpowers. It just makes everything feel deeper, quieter, warmer. It’s perfect alone too, especially on overcast days or when I want to feel like I’m in a protective cocoon.

Also: buying from Libertine is always incredible.

Their shipping is fast, their packaging is thoughtful and luxe, and they always spoil you with samples—which I deeply appreciate as someone with a very specific nose. I keep coming back not just for the perfume, but for the care behind it.

l bought blind buy for my wife. This is such a beautiful perfume! So soft and creamy but with a real kick of citrus!

I bought Lira because Akro Bake was out of stock. This is also the lemony, creamy kind of scent. I do wish it lasted longer.

This is a beautifully crafted, smooth, citrus vanilla/caramel scent with a hint of spice and liquorice.

Great for every day wear when you want to smell edible but need something more than ‘just vanilla’. I personally can’t get enough of it. It’s not linear but it’s not overly complicated… it’s smooth, creamy deliciousness.

Longevity and sillage isn’t the best unfortunately and I have to overspray for it to really stick around. But it’s just so good that I’m not bothered about its average performance. You might be though!

First time buying off Libertine and the whole experience was wonderful. Loved the packaging, free samples and all the extra touches.

Libertine kindly sent me a sample of Queen of Silk in a recent order and, on first wear, I wasn’t a fan. But over the next few wears, I experienced a beautiful oriental floral that evolves from a bold, slightly unexpected opening to a smooth, luxurious dry-down.

It makes a strong first impression, with what seems like a spiced patchouli and tuberose-dominant start (carrying a slightly masculine edge) with a subtle petrol-like note in the opening — perhaps from saffron — adding a slightly medicinal touch, before softening as it develops. As it transitions, Queen of Silk leans more feminine, with a warm, spicy incense and an opulent floral heart. It becomes a softer, more refined floral composition, where the silky texture truly emerges. The sweetness in the mid-to-full dry-down is balanced and never overpowering, making the scent feel smooth, silky and refined, true to its regal name.

This fragrance is lovely and a perfect reminder that snap judgments don’t always do justice to a perfume’s full story.

If you already own Blue Heart by Thameen you won’t need this one - they are incredibly similar. I own Blue Heart so won’t be purchasing this full size however I really enjoyed the sample. It’s a delicious autumn winter fragrance. It is labelled as “For Women” however I consider it to be perfectly unisex. Excellent longevity and great projection. Highly recommend.

I absolutely love this fragrance and the company as a whole, this was my second time ordering from the company. Whilst I am very happy with the product I was a little let down with the service this time around as compared to my first, which was ultimately the reason I had decided to shop with libertine again.

My first ever order with the company I received 3 samples of my own choice, scented packaging and a hand written letter with my purchase. This time around I was not as fortunate receiving two random samples and no matching sample with my full bottle as promised/guaranteed, no letter and no scented packaging etc.

I understand this mightn’t seem like a huge deal and that it was flat out over black friday sales, but I thought i’d share my opinion and thoughts. Being a fragrance geek it’s not always the good price that brings us back, but rather the service and community as a whole.

Libertine had sent me a sample of this one, and I loved it enough to buy a full size. I had hated the sample of SMN Rosa Gardenia - way too sweet and cloying on me. Normally I don’t like rose, but Rosa Novella has something different — a spicy accord that I am attracted to. I was also impressed with the staying power, quite good for a cologne. Libertine’s packaging and free samples are very much appreciated too.

I love this Rose fragrance. It is delicate, fresh, alive and discreet. Italian perfection.

it is a lovely fragrance even better than the non extrait version. They start on the same note and then go in different directions. Extrait version leans more towards Dark Cherry.
