Bright red embers slowly burn bits of oud wood; its smoke gives the full intensity of this amazing material.
“Perfect Oud” is the memory of this burnt wood for which Alberto Morillas made the decision not to include any oud wood essence. “Perfect Oud” is an emotion. The one of slow rising heat. A scent of leather and smoke which penetrates the skin and linens.
The rarely used Alaska cedar dominates here, revealing leather and incense notes. If coriander and bergamot oils cool it down, cade oil joins in to invigorate the blend. Hot and radical, “Perfect Oud” eventually bends thanks to the rose and iris oils.
And smoke can turn into a marvellous wake
Top notes: bergamot oil, coriander oil, Bulgarian rose oil
Heart notes: iris concrete, oud wood
Base notes: Alaska cedar essence, cade oil.

It’s beautiful
Actually perfect! It’s airy and long lasting. Beautiful blend of rose and oud. Iris reminds me of dior homme parfum, but this one isn’t that sweet in the drydown. Slight smoky feel.
Disappointed with the samples I received with my full bottle from Libertine: don’t know what happened there but none of the samples I requested was in the box ☹️

Received this as a sample with another Libertine purchase (clever work team, keep getting me hooked!) and it's wonderful - as close to a genuine summer 'oud' (I say that as I don't recognise a whole lot of oud notes in this one) as you could possibly find. Gentle smoke and dark elements with a hint of rose - a powerful yet comforting scent.
