I written reviews for Xerjoff's NAXOS, and more lately Lubin's KORRIGAN, but this little delight...oh...
But IOMMI? This one's sweet, boozy, forceful and she's doing things to me, that I'm not entirely opposed to.
If I said to you that, for me, NAXOS was a continually complex olfactory adventure, and everytime I noticed that I was wearing it, by catching another wiff, that brought me something different again in the bouquet, I would not stray from the truth, and IF I said that KORRIGAN'S linear journey with high notes of Saffron, leather and oh, so many things... was a straight drive into nasal bliss, I again would not depart from the truth...
But, the sweetness of IOMMI, is something at once complex and linear in a way that I'm still not sure how I should tell you about it. It's sweet, but not floral, syrupy, and approaches, but doesn't cross into the dirty side of corruption, too sweet to taste like it's going to be good for you and promising that it's just bad enough to be enjoyed, thoroughly.
The notes higher in the bouquet; cinnamon, caramel and leather, for me, and maybe only for me, are the chief seduction in this ~ if you imagine SPICE BOMB, but with sweeter and easier to inhale gourmands ( the caramel screams for me to lick it ), that's riding on a bed of musk, and amber, and patchouli and that bed has a spread of Rum soaked sheets, dressed in vanilla, tonka and sandalwood pillow cases, I would agree.
Of course the bed is pulled along by two unicornsâŠ
