This azure and gold pillar candle from Trudon’s Versailles collection exceeded my expectations, as I bought it online, only going by the photos on this website. I think it is more gorgeous than photos portray, and I don’t mind at all that it is scentless. The candle has a heft to it, and a smooth polished feel. The gold band is more muted than the bright cameo of King Louis XIV, and the cameo itself impressive. Well done to whoever carefully extracts the wax cameos from the molds because the definition in Louis’ face is clear. Trudon has managed to create a decorative object (it would be a shame to actually burn it) which is both modern and classic, so personally I think it can be styled to fit in with a relaxed Aussie lifestyle or glammed up for a celebration. I’ve been having fun placing the two pillar candies I just received in different rooms, the deck at night and on various plates, stands etc. I hope that Trudon brings out more of these types of exquisite decorative objects for modern tastes.
