My kind of Rose

Libertine had sent me a sample of this one, and I loved it enough to buy a full size. I had hated the sample of SMN Rosa Gardenia - way too sweet and cloying on me. Normally I don’t like rose, but Rosa Novella has something different — a spicy accord that I am attracted to. I was also impressed with the staying power, quite good for a cologne. Libertine’s packaging and free samples are very much appreciated too.

Its a very old scent, and wearing it reminded me of being little and surrounded by aunts. I was hoping more of the citrus notes would be obvious, and its too heavy for my everyday wear. I think I could grow to like it but it would take a while to fully appreciate what this fragrance has to offer

There is nothing like SMN Colonia Russa!

Russa is so uplifting and fresh. The notes are quite complex, so while it may be a short lived cologne, it isn’t simple. I wish it had matching body products to lengthen the wear, but I just carry a travel spray with me to top up. That’s the beauty of having the bottle come in splash form with an atomiser in the box so you have the option to decant the liquid into a smaller spray bottle. Russa is particularly good for long mind numbing trips or those mid-afternoon slumps when I could reach for the chocolate, but spritz instead for the healthier option. I love it so much I don’t miss the chocolate one bit!
