FYI this is a disinfectant
The confusion about what exactly this product does is understandable, given the extremely limited explanation provided by Santa Maria Novella, and Libertine I must say. I bought the cleansing spray because I think highly of the SMN products, but I would not repurchase it. It has a mild minty scent (that’s from the balsamite ingredient), but who knows if it disinfects. Unlike Glen 20 for example, there is no info on efficacy or which, if any, nasties might be targeted. The scent lasts only until the spray particles land in a surface
This description below of the cleansing spray is from another website which sells it. “Purifying product with 70% Vol. Alcohol with balsamite extract, to be sprayed on fabrics and environments. Purifies, perfumes and sanitizes. Particularly useful for refreshing the masks.
Spray the desired quantity and wait a few minutes for the alcohol to evaporate”.
SM Novella Cleansing Spray - Good Fragrance, Bad Performance
The SM Novella spray that was received came to me with a lovely note and beautiful packaging. I was excited to try it because I am such a fan of the brand that I thought a room spray could be a cheaper alternative to getting the SM Novella experience. Suffice to say, the fragrance was just- good. Nothing special. A light minty citrus not unlike the smell of toothpaste or a premium mouth wash. I was hoping that the scent itself would be a little more interesting and exotic, perhaps even a little more complex. Still, a quite pleasant scent. The performance however was the biggest disappointment. 1 spray would last maybe 20-30 mins in a bathroom. 2 sprays just the same. 4 or 5 sprays is needed to adequately perfume the air for at least an hour and if you're using this stuff daily (as I like highly scented spaces) the bottle is half finished after a week of use. While I do enjoy it, I would not say that the spray is worth price and that there are cheaper brands that offer better room spray experiences (I even use Tea Rose by The Perfume Workshop priced at $9 to perfume the space and it is far more powerful and pleasant). Overall not bad, but just slightly disappointing.
It’s just smell like pure alcohol
Not really sure were they were going with this product
It just smell like pure alcohol when you spray it
Could be a disinfectant of some kind
Definitely not a room spray.
Not very impressive

I love it! I bought this product originally at Rinascente in Milan and left it at a restaurant in Portofino and wasn’t able to source any more in Italy. It’s my favourite hand sanitiser - the minty smell is gorgeous
